After falling in love with Taiwan in 2012, I decided to head back for my biennial Asia Trip.

Finally on my third day, I was starting to feel like my jetlag was going away (woo-hoo!). I was able to sleep in until 6:30 AM and by the time I was ready to leave my hotel, it was close to 7:15 AM. As I head to the MRT station, I made the decision to head back to Fuhang Doujiang for breakfast. I got there around 7:40 (ish) and there was a short line. I
made attempted to make small chat with a woman in front of me. She was super friendly and asked if I had been here before and I happily revealed that I was there yesterday for breakfast too. When I mentioned my Mandarin wasn’t very good, she insisted on helping me order. I pulled up a picture of the flatbread sandwich and told her that I wanted to order this and a sweet cold doujiang.
Sweet cold joujiang (aka soymilk)
Delicious flatbread sandwich with fried donut (I believe there was egg inside too)
Crispy caramel pie (recommended by the nice woman who ordered for me).
After she helped me order and I got my food, I sat down at one of the long tables and began to enjoy my food while the woman..actually I had no idea where she was. I assumed she sat down to one of the smaller tables to eat. I took my time eating and checking my Facebook. About 20 minutes later, the woman reappeared and asked how I was enjoying my food. I told her that I enjoyed it and she wished me a good trip.
I decided to tick another item off my to-do list and go ride the Maokong Gondola. As it was before 10 AM, there was virtually no line for the regular gondola so I didn’t have to wait and I got my own! The ride was scenic and it took about 20 – 30 minutes to reach the last station.

After getting off at the Maokong Station, I walked around for a little bit before heading back. There were a lot of snack stalls and cute cafes lining the streets from the station.
I stopped by a cute little cafe for a snack 🙂
I only stayed for a short time as I am not a hiker and I wanted to head over to Taipei 101 it got busier. The crystal cabin line was virtually empty so I decided to take the glass bottom cabin back down.

I always make a point to visit Taipei 101 when I’m in Taipei. There is something about riding up the world’s fastest passenger elevator and viewing the city of Taipei from the observatory deck.

After visiting Taipei 101, I went back to the hotel for a quick nap before heading out to visit Ximending. I forget how crazy Ximending is, all the people and the noise… I must be getting old because I went straight to bed after getting back to the hotel.
