Ummm…Where are you staying?

Hi everyone, sorry for the delay. I had lots to do. πŸ˜›

~~~~~~~
Ummm… Where are you staying?
Everyone (or at least I hope everyone) knows that once a vacation/trip is booked, the next big decision will be the lodging. Where are you going to stay? How far is it from all the attractions? Is there a special promotion going on? How long to stay for? How much will this cost me? and most importantly…Will the staff speak English?!
If you are like me and doesn’t really stay in a hotel room during your trip and don’t mind the 3 star hotels…there are plenty of options to choose from. There are tons of hostels, budget hotels and the occasional bit-more-than-what-i-want-to-pay-for hotel. Do keep in mind that hostels will only give you the bare amenities (and sometimes not even that). Nowadays, there are so many websites to help budget travelers find lodging. Please, please do some research first before booking your lodging. Unless you have booked with them before, but still, generally speaking, DO YOUR RESEARCH! And always book with a credit card.
Why book with a credit card? Should something go wrong during your stay or you got charged an extra night, it would be easier to dispute with your credit card company.
Okay, back to the trip. We will be staying in 4 hotels during our 2 week adventure. For our first 2 nights, we will be staying with T.H. (Bless her). Since she is leaving on the 30th and us on the 31st, we booked a night at the Sanduo Hotel. We choose this hotel based on the following criteria: 1. Close to the airport (a 15 minute drive away) 2. Close to shopping (literally 5 minutes away by car) 3. Staff that speaks English (our Mandarin is a bit rusty) 4. How much will this cost me? (pre-paid on Agoda.com…a whooping 35USD per night!) That is only 18USD per person! How awesome is that?
Our first hotel in Hong Kong will the 60 West located in Hong Kong Island. We got this one for 95USD per night. About 48USD per person. Still a pretty good deal to me πŸ™‚
The second hotel is the Courtyard Hong Kong, which is about a 10 minute walk from our first hotel. The price of staying here? FREE! When I applied for the Marriott Premier credit card, I was given a free night at any Marriott hotel (category 1-4) in the world πŸ™‚
And our final hotel is the Y Hotel Taipei aka YMCA.
All of the hotels mentioned above are booked through Agoda
Until next time!
